Getting Started

Others Centered is a community-driven platform where people can ask for help, offer help, and support each other through practical needs like car repairs, bills, food, or everyday hardships. We connect neighbors directly so generosity becomes simple, personal, and local.

Others Centered was founded by people who believe communities thrive when neighbors support each other. We operate with transparency, integrity, and a heart for meeting practical needs.

You can create an account on our website by choosing to sign up as either a Helper or a Member.

Helpers are people who want to support others’ needs.
Members are people who want to be part of the community, submit needs, and receive support.

Your account lets you view needs, submit requests, track updates, and engage with the community.

No. Others Centered is inspired by faith-driven compassion, but anyone can join regardless of background or beliefs. Our mission is simple: help people love their neighbors.

Asking for Help

You can submit a need by using the “Ask for Help” form on the website.

You’ll provide:

A short description of what you need

The amount required (if financial)
Your ZIP code

Any additional information to help us understand the situation

All submissions go through a quick review for safety and clarity before being posted publicly.

Common categories include:

  • Bills & Essentials
  • Meals
  • Home repairs
  • Car repairs
  • Medical-related needs
  • Unexpected emergencies

If you’re unsure whether your request is appropriate, submit it anyway-we’ll help guide you.

Most needs are reviewed within 24-48 hours, depending on volume and clarity.

We may follow up if we need more information to ensure accuracy and safety before posting.

Most needs require an active membership, but urgent or special circumstances may still be reviewed. Our goal is to help people whenever possible while keeping the platform sustainable and safe.

Safety & Trust

Safety is extremely important to us.

We protect the community by:

  • Reviewing every need submission
  • Requiring identity verification for helpers
  • Displaying only the details necessary to complete the need
  • Monitoring activity for fraud or misuse
  • Using secure payment partners when donations are involved

We work hard to ensure that every interaction is honest, respectful, and trustworthy.

Before a need is posted, we:

  • Review the details
  • Confirm it aligns with our guidelines
  • Check for validity or potential fraud
  • Ensure it’s a real person with a real circumstance

We aim for generosity, but also stewardship.

Pause and contact us immediately through the Contact page. We will revie the situation and take action if needed.
